Full Description

Makyle Francois, aged 24 from Huntingdon Avenue, Huddersfield, was sentenced for his involvement in violent attacks on two men in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. In the July 2024 incident, a Kirklees man was lured to a house in the Newsome area on 10 July, where he was kidnapped, held against his will, and subjected to repeated torture and assaults with weapons until his escape on 16 July.

Investigations by West Yorkshire Police commenced on 17 July 2024 following the victim's report. Francois admitted to section 18 assault and kidnap in relation to this event. The group dynamics involved coordinated brutality, leaving the victim in fear for his life.

On 7 August 2024, Francois took part in another assault on a man in his 20s at an address in Huddersfield, inflicting serious head injuries. The victim escaped via a window and received hospital treatment. Police attended the scene after an ambulance alert and linked it to the prior incident through victim statements.

Francois was arrested in the days following the August attack. On 19 January 2026, at Leeds Crown Court, he received an 18-year custodial sentence with four years on extended licence for his roles in both assaults. DC Andy Buckingham commented: 'I hope seeing these individuals sentenced today will help bring them some measure of comfort and closure from what were awful ordeals.' The case highlighted the severe trauma inflicted on the victims.
