Offence Summary

Abdul Sial was caught possessing a Taser and numerous indecent images of children, including severe category A images, leading to guilty pleas on multiple counts of making and possessing such images as well as a prohibited weapon.

Full Description

On 28 November 2022, in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, 29-year-old Abdul Sial was found in possession of a Taser device and a significant number of indecent images of children. The images included nine category A photographs—the most severe classification—three category B images, and 30 category C images. Sial also possessed a prohibited image of a child. These offences came to light during an investigation by Thames Valley Police, who discovered the materials on his devices.

Sial, residing on Granville Street in Aylesbury, appeared at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on 10 February 2025, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child and one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child. The charge of 'making' encompasses downloading, accessing, or storing such images on a device, even temporarily. He also admitted to possessing a weapon designed for the discharge of a noxious liquid, gas, or electrical incapacitation device, specifically the Taser found with him on the same date.

During the sentencing hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on 16 December 2024, Sial avoided a custodial sentence and was instead handed a one-year community order. This included up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity and 120 hours of unpaid work, to be completed within the next 12 months. The court imposed additional measures to mitigate future risk, requiring Sial to register as a sex offender with the police for five years and subjecting him to a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order. This order restricts his internet and device usage, prohibits the use of VPNs, chat forums, and online chat rooms, and allows police to inspect his home, devices, and router.

Financial penalties included an order to pay £85 in court costs and a £114 victim surcharge by 5 January 2025. The court further ordered the forfeiture and destruction of the black Huawei telephone, laptop, and Taser involved in the offences. The case was reported by the Bucks Free Press, highlighting the severity of indecent image offences and the judicial response in Buckinghamshire.
