Offence Summary

Jack Meredith bribed two teenage boys into sending him indecent images and engaging in sexual activity in exchange for money, and sexually assaulted one of them multiple times.

Full Description

Jack Meredith, a 28-year-old man from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court for a series of sexual offences against two teenage boys. Meredith targeted the victims by offering them money in exchange for indecent images and sexual acts, exploiting their vulnerability.

One of the boys reported Meredith to the police after being approached with an offer to 'earn some money' in return for sending sexual photos of himself. This prompted an investigation by South Yorkshire Police. Upon examination of Meredith's phone, officers identified a second victim whom Meredith had similarly coerced into providing sexual images for payment. In this case, Meredith went further, sexually assaulting the boy on multiple occasions and engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with him.

Meredith pleaded guilty to several charges, including two counts of inciting a boy aged 13 to 15 to engage in sexual activity in respect of the first victim, and two counts of the same offence plus four counts of sexual assault, engaging in non-penetrative sexual activity with a boy aged 13 to 15, and inciting the sexual exploitation of a child aged 13 to 17 in respect of the second victim. The offences took place in Doncaster, involving boys within the specified age ranges.

On Monday, Meredith was jailed for three years. He was also made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and a 25-year restraining order, and required to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for life. Detective Constable Dani Duncan-Blakley of South Yorkshire Police commended the victims for their bravery, stating: 'Without their courageous testimonies, we wouldn't have been able to secure this criminal justice outcome and I hope this sentence provides some comfort to both of his victims after what must have been a torrid and traumatic experience.'

The case was reported by Yorkshire Live, highlighting the importance of reporting such crimes to support victims and achieve justice.
