Full Description

Frederick Allard, a 73-year-old man residing on Nepaul Road in Tidworth, has been found guilty of serious sexual offences following a trial at Winchester Crown Court. The charges stem from a series of exploitative actions where Allard abused his position as a landlord to target vulnerable women inquiring about rental properties.

The offences occurred over a four-year period, from February 2019 to January 2023. According to court proceedings, the victims approached Allard regarding rooms for rent in his property. Instead of providing standard tenancy arrangements, Allard subjected them to sexual assault and grossly inappropriate behaviour, including soliciting sex acts in exchange for reduced rent. This exploitation preyed on the women's perceived vulnerabilities, causing significant harm and distress.

Following the guilty verdict, Allard was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on 21 June 2024. Complex Crime Investigator Elly Moxom from Wiltshire Police provided insight into the case, stating that the victims contacted police after their encounters with Allard. She highlighted the bravery of the women in coming forward and emphasised the profound impact of Allard's actions on their lives.

Moxom further noted, 'We will show zero tolerance to crimes like those committed by Mr. Allard, who sought to exploit perceived vulnerabilities in his victims for sexual gratification.' The case underscores the ongoing efforts by Wiltshire Police to protect women and girls from such predatory behaviour.
