Full Description

Two men from Enfield, Ashley Mundee and Huseyin Ninnolar, have been imprisoned for child sexual offences following a thorough investigation by Thames Valley Police. The case, heard at Oxford Crown Court, highlights the dangers of online grooming and the predatory behaviour of the defendants towards vulnerable minors.

Huseyin Ninnolar, aged 23 and residing on Bell Lane in Enfield Wash, accompanied his friend Ashley Mundee on a trip from Enfield to Oxford on 18 July 2023. The purpose of the journey was to meet two 15-year-old girls whom Mundee had groomed online. Ninnolar participated in supplying the victims with drugs and alcohol to impair their judgement, after which the group was driven to a secluded area where the sexual offences took place. During these events, Ninnolar filmed indecent images of one of the children, capturing the exploitation on video.

A jury at Oxford Crown Court found Ninnolar guilty of one count of taking indecent images of a child. The evidence presented demonstrated his active role in the facilitation and documentation of the abuse. Thames Valley Police arrested both defendants on the day of the offences and charged them two days later, ensuring a rapid response to the incident.

Detective Constable Samuel Goodsell, the investigating officer, described Mundee and Ninnolar as 'predatory sex offenders' in a statement from Thames Valley Police. He stated that 'it was demonstrated in court that Mundee was well aware of his victims’ ages, but despite this carried out sexual activity with the children, which Ninnolar filmed.' Goodsell further noted the defendants' intent, saying, 'They travelled to Oxfordshire for the sole purpose of meeting their victims and carrying out the offences they have been convicted of.' The victims' courage was highlighted, with Goodsell adding, 'I would like to commend the victims for their bravery and for placing their trust in the force.'

Ninnolar was sentenced to three years and four months in custody. This outcome reflects the severity of his involvement in the child sexual exploitation. The case underscores the collaborative nature of such crimes and the critical role of law enforcement in addressing them to safeguard young people from harm.
