Full Description

An 18-year-old from Swaffham, Norfolk, has been referred to Norwich Crown Court for sentencing after admitting to possessing and making indecent images of children. Jayden Forster, residing at Pedlars Drove, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 10, 2023, following his earlier guilty pleas on June 14.

The case stems from an investigation by Norfolk Police, who received information about a Twitter account linked to Forster’s phone. This account was subsequently connected to illicit material. On February 8, 2023, officers executed a warrant at his home address, arresting Forster and seizing several devices. Forensic examination revealed four Category A indecent photographs of children—the most serious classification—along with three Category B images and one Category C image. The victims depicted were aged between nine and 15 years old.

Crown prosecutor Colette Harper outlined the details to the magistrates, emphasising the gravity of the offences. Due to Forster’s guilty pleas, the court noted a starting point of eight months’ custody. Presiding magistrate Louise Barber committed the case to Norwich Crown Court for sentencing, as magistrates’ powers were insufficient for the potential penalty. A sentencing date has yet to be confirmed, and Forster was released on unconditional bail in the interim. He will be subject to sex offender notification requirements upon conviction.

This incident highlights ongoing efforts by Norfolk Police to combat child sexual exploitation online. The force has urged the public to report any suspicions of such activity through official channels.
