Offence Summary

Levi Burton pleaded guilty to kidnapping, false imprisonment, assaulting a police officer, and was found guilty of sexual assault in the Dorking torture case.

Full Description

Levi Burton, 30, from Leatherhead, faced Guildford Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to kidnapping, false imprisonment, and assaulting a police officer, and was additionally found guilty of sexual assault following a six-week trial ending 10 December 2025. His actions were part of a gang's savage abduction and abuse of a Dorking man on 26 April 2025.

The kidnapping was reported by a neighbour who saw masked men taking the victim away at lunchtime. He was driven to Reigate for blindfolding, force-feeding, and dog intimidation, then to Farnborough for intensified torment. Burton participated in the sexual assault, alongside beatings, punches, kicks, burns, whippings, stabbing the foot, forcing crack cocaine inhalation, and spraying paint on injuries to heighten agony.

Anonymous ransom calls to the victim's brother the next day were traced by police to the Farnborough property, facilitating arrests and seizure of a demand phone. Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Kimball Edey commented: "He had still been subjected to what amounted to torture at the hands of Armstrong, Burton, Love, Swyer and Thompson. No one should have to endure the ordeal they had put him through and their convictions... have ensured they have been brought to justice."

Burton's guilty pleas and conviction highlight his central role in the offences. He awaits sentencing on 19 or 20 February 2026 at Guildford Crown Court, with the case investigated by Surrey Police as part of their response to violent crimes in the area.
