Full Description

A 45-year-old man from Wycombe has been sentenced to over six years in prison for a series of child sex offences spanning nearly a decade. Fayyaz Haider, residing on Doolittle Avenue, appeared at Amersham Crown Court on Friday, 4 July 2025, where he received a custodial sentence of six years and four months following his guilty pleas to serious charges involving the abuse of three children.

The offences, which took place in High Wycombe, involved the sexual abuse of two girls and the physical abuse of a boy. According to court proceedings, the abuse occurred in two distinct periods: between 2015 and 2018, and again from 2021 until October 2024. Haider was charged with four counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of intentional strangulation, and two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. These charges highlight the gravity and prolonged nature of the exploitation endured by the victims.

Thames Valley Police arrested Haider on 17 October 2024, charging him just two days later on 19 October, after which he was remanded into custody. The investigation was led by the Child Abuse Investigation Unit in Aylesbury, with Detective Constable Laura Green overseeing the case. In a statement following the sentencing, DC Green commended the victims, stating: 'I would like to commend the victims in this case for the strength and bravery they have shown throughout this investigation. This sentence highlights our commitment to supporting those who have suffered abuse in childhood, no matter when the offending took place, and bringing their abusers to justice.' The court also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed Haider on the sex offenders' register indefinitely to protect the public from further harm.

The case underscores the ongoing efforts by Thames Valley Police to address historical and recent child abuse, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable regardless of the time elapsed since the offences. Sources close to the investigation, including reports from Bucks Free Press, confirm that the bravery of the victims was pivotal in securing Haider's conviction and sentencing.
