Offence Summary

Victor Blowers, a 69-year-old man from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, raped and sexually assaulted a child, took and made indecent images of the child, and assaulted a child under 13. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison with an additional four years on licence.

Full Description

A father and son duo, Victor Blowers and his son Alexander, were convicted of horrific sexual offences against the same child in a case that came to light through the bravery of the victim confiding in a teacher.

The abuse was uncovered when the child told their teacher about a man using a mobile phone to take inappropriate photographs of them. This prompted an investigation that led to the arrest of Victor Blowers, 69, from Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Upon arrest, Victor confessed to the abuse, admitting he was 'besotted' with the child, as reported by The Daily Star.

  • Victor Blowers admitted to nine offences, including rape, sexual assault, assaulting a child under 13, taking indecent photos of a child, and making indecent photos of a child.
  • The court heard that the child was driven to secluded spots by the father and son, where the abuse occurred, including the child being sandwiched between them in the backseat of a car before the assaults took place.

At Ipswich Crown Court, Victor was sentenced to 12 years behind bars, with an additional four years to be served on licence. The combined sentence for Victor and his son totalled 32 years, highlighting the severity of the crimes committed against the vulnerable child.
