Offence Summary

Jason Paulucci, a Derbyshire accountant previously jailed for fraud, admitted to possessing indecent images of children and was sentenced to an additional six months in prison along with a seven-year sexual harm prevention order.

Full Description

A Derbyshire accountant, Jason Paulucci, has been handed additional jail time for possessing indecent images of children, compounding his existing sentence for fraud. Paulucci, aged 53, was already serving nearly three years in prison for defrauding his former employer when he faced new charges related to child sexual abuse material.

The offences came to light after Paulucci pleaded not guilty initially to possessing five category A, one category B, and 35 category C indecent images of children. However, he changed his plea to guilty on 3 October 2025 at Derby Crown Court. The images were discovered to have been committed—meaning accessed or downloaded—at an address on Searston Avenue in Holmewood on 25 January 2025. Paulucci, formerly residing at Chestnut Drive in Shirebrook and Castle Lane in Bolsover, appeared before Judge Shaun Smith KC for sentencing.

Judge Smith KC sentenced Paulucci to six months' imprisonment, to be served consecutively to his existing term. Additionally, a seven-year sexual harm prevention order was imposed to restrict his activities and protect the public. This new conviction follows Paulucci's earlier imprisonment for fraud committed in 2018 while working as an accounts manager at Oxdale Products Ltd in Sheepbridge. In that case, he stole from the company by using credit cards for unauthorised purchases and providing his own bank account details as those of the firm. On 18 September 2022, Recorder R Rouch at Derby Crown Court jailed him for two years and ten months.

The case was reported by the Derbyshire Times on 6 November 2025, highlighting the ongoing legal consequences for Paulucci's criminal behaviour. Derbyshire Constabulary investigated the indecent images offences, leading to his arrest and prosecution. No further details on the source of the images or additional context were provided in court proceedings, but the severity of the categories underscores the gravity of the material involved.
