Full Description

Kaylum Forrester, 34, from Huyton, was arrested as part of the NWROCU's Operation Meteor targeting online child sexual offences. Believing he was interacting with a child online, Forrester engaged in sexual communications, which led to his investigation and subsequent arrest.

Upon his arrest in May 2023, Merseyside Police seized several electronic devices from Forrester's possession. Forensic examination revealed more than 800 indecent images of children stored on these devices, providing clear evidence of his involvement in child sexual exploitation material.

Forrester pleaded guilty to child sex offences at court. In May 2023, he was sentenced to six years' imprisonment at Liverpool Crown Court. He was also issued a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life to mitigate future risks to children.

Operation Meteor, initiated in December 2021, has been instrumental in dismantling networks of online child abusers across the North West. Forrester's case highlights the importance of digital forensics in uncovering hidden crimes. As stated by NWROCU's Detective Chief Inspector Donna Houlton-Pinder: “We will continue to collaborate with other law enforcement and partner agencies across the country to safeguard children from harm.” The operation's efforts have resulted in 1,015 arrests and the protection of over 400 young people to date.
