Full Description

Igor Ikoniak, a 21-year-old man from Yeoman Close in Ipswich, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court for a series of indecent acts targeting vulnerable women. Between October 2024 and February 2025, Ikoniak approached women as they walked along the footpath underneath the bridge on Yarmouth Road in Ipswich.

One victim, who was pregnant at the time, reported seeing Ikoniak with his penis exposed while he masturbated. In another incident, he grabbed a victim while masturbating and seized the strap of her backpack as she struggled to escape. These acts were described in court as demonstrating Ikoniak's cowardice, in stark contrast to the courage shown by his victims.

Judge David Wilson, during sentencing, highlighted the bravery of the victims in coming forward. Ikoniak was jailed for 40 months and will be subject to an extended licence period of three years following his release, aimed at protecting the public from further offences. The case was handled by Suffolk Constabulary, with the sentencing occurring in August 2025 at Ipswich Crown Court.
