Offence Summary

Kassam Hussain was convicted of raping a teenage girl, grooming and sexually assaulting another, and abducting two teenage girls in the West Midlands.

Full Description

Kassam Hussain, from Antrobus Road in Handsworth Wood, was found guilty of nine serious offences at Birmingham Crown Court on 4 December 2025, following a two-week trial that concluded with a unanimous verdict.

The offences included the rape of a teenage girl in September 2024. In the same month, Hussain groomed and sexually assaulted another teenage girl before abducting her in May 2025. He also abducted a third teenage girl during the same period in May 2025. The victims, all teenage girls, were targeted when they were particularly vulnerable, exploiting their personal circumstances.

Detective Constable Sarah Toye, from the Central Complex Child Public Protection Unit of West Midlands Police, described the investigation as complex, highlighting how Hussain preyed upon the young girls. The victims have been safeguarded and continue to receive support from authorities after enduring the horrific ordeals.

Hussain's sentencing is scheduled for February 2026. The case was prosecuted by West Midlands Police, underscoring their commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from sexual exploitation and abuse.
