Offence Summary

Full Description

Jason Davis, a 51-year-old man from Hemsby, Norfolk, has a long history of sexual offences dating back to the 1990s. In 2003, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison at Northampton Crown Court after being found guilty of carrying out systematic sexual abuse against three boys in Daventry and Milton Keynes over a five-year period. This conviction led to his placement on the sex offenders register.

More recently, Davis appeared at Norwich Crown Court in February, where he was jailed for two years for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and for shooting two 13-year-old boys with an airgun. The SHPO was imposed to prevent him from engaging in activities that could lead to further sexual harm, and his breach demonstrated a disregard for the restrictions placed upon him.

The property linked to Davis in Hemsby, a clifftop home, has been the target of vandalism on multiple occasions. In May, police were called after power cables were cut and a window and patio door were damaged. Later that month, another window was smashed. On Friday, January 2, at around 5pm, a vehicle parked in the front yard of the house was deliberately set alight, resulting in the car being completely destroyed. A neighbour reported that the fire spread rapidly and the car 'literally exploded'. Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at 5.06pm with three appliances from Great Yarmouth, using hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze in difficult conditions due to severe coastal erosion. The operation took just over an hour, and the neighbour noted that westerly winds fortunately prevented the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Norfolk Police stated they have no records of being called to the latest incident. The article, published by the Great Yarmouth Mercury, highlights ongoing community tensions surrounding Davis's presence in the area, with the property having been vandalised and broken into several times in recent months.
