Offence Summary

Former dog trainer jailed for nine years for a series of sexual offences including rape, sexual activity with a child, and sexual communications with a child.

Full Description

Oliver Tatton, a 34-year-old former dog trainer, was sentenced to nine years in prison at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, 15 May 2026, for a catalogue of sexual offences committed across several counties over a five-year period.

The offences, which took place between June 2013 and June 2018, included:

  • Rape
  • Three counts of sexual activity with a child
  • Two counts of causing or inciting a child into sexual activity
  • Sexual assault of a woman
  • Sending an indecent communication with intent to cause distress or anxiety
  • Engaging in sexual communication with a child

Tatton, of Court Meadow, Kempsey, committed these crimes across locations including Evesham, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, and Surrey. The court heard details of the abuse, which inflicted lasting harm on his three victims. In addition to the custodial sentence, all three victims were granted indefinite restraining orders, prohibiting Tatton from ever contacting them directly or indirectly.

The case was investigated by West Mercia Police, and the force released a custody photograph of Tatton following his sentencing. The judge described the offences as extremely serious, reflecting the severity in the nine-year term imposed.
