Slawomir Klimek

Slawomir Klimek, 33, of Ingleb Close in Blackburn, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for the brutal rape of two women on the streets of Blackburn. The attacks, characterised by extreme violence, also involved assaults causing actual bodily harm, leaving the victims with severe physical and emotional scars.

Following a trial at Preston Crown Court, Klimek was found guilty of two counts of rape and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm. Evidence presented included witness testimonies and forensic analysis by Lancashire Police, who responded swiftly to the incidents. The first rape resulted in a 10-year sentence, while the second carried 12 years, to be served consecutively.

The judge noted Klimek's lack of remorse and the public danger he posed, requiring him to serve at least two-thirds of his sentence before parole eligibility. These street attacks underscore the risks faced by women in public spaces and the robust response from the justice system in delivering lengthy custodial terms for such heinous crimes.
