Offence Summary

Jamie Twigg was sentenced to 13 years in prison for a series of rapes and sexual assaults, including two counts of child rape, committed between 2014 and 2023.

Full Description

Jamie Twigg, 43, of Jellicoe Avenue, Lincoln, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on 5 June 2026, where he was jailed for 13 years. He had been found guilty the previous day, following an eight-day trial, of eight counts of rape, including two counts of rape of a child, and two counts of sexual assault.

The offences took place over a period of almost a decade, between 2014 and 2023. In a personal statement read to the court, the victim described feeling robbed of their childhood and said the impact would last the rest of their life. However, they added that they were determined to have a “good life” once Twigg had been dealt with.

In addition to the prison sentence, Twigg was given a sexual harm prevention order and an indefinite restraining order.

Detective Constable Bell, who led the investigation for Lincolnshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable Persons Unit, said: “Today’s sentence concludes an exhaustive, difficult and lengthy investigation into the abhorrent crimes committed by Jamie Twigg spanning almost a decade. We will not and cannot be intimidated by anyone in the pursuit of safeguarding the children of Lincolnshire. We will leave no stone unturned and wish for others to know that support is available for them.”

The case was prosecuted with the assistance of the Crown Prosecution Service and various third-party agencies who worked with Lincolnshire Police.
