Full Description

Patrik Seidenglanz, a 50-year-old man from Grimsby, was convicted at Grimsby Crown Court for a series of serious sexual offences against a 14-year-old girl. The case came to light in May 2025 when the victim, accompanied by a family member, reported the abuse at Victoria Street Police Station in Grimsby. She disclosed that Seidenglanz had attempted to rape her and had inappropriately touched her on multiple occasions.

Following the report, Humberside Police launched an immediate investigation. The victim identified Seidenglanz as the perpetrator, leading to his swift arrest at his home address on suspicion of sexual assault by penetration. As part of the enquiries, officers seized his phone, and analysis by the Digital Forensics Unit revealed correspondence showing that Seidenglanz had been grooming the teenager over several months.

During his interview in custody, Seidenglanz denied all allegations, claiming the girl was lying and asserting that he had been the one sexually assaulted by her. However, he was found guilty after a trial at Grimsby Crown Court on Friday, 5 December 2025. The court sentenced him to 12 years' imprisonment, imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and issued a Restraining Order to protect the victim.

Detective Constable Enea Luciano, who led the investigation for Humberside Police, commended the victim's courage in coming forward. In a statement, Luciano said: "The 14-year-old girl has been subjected to unimaginable crimes at the hands of a perverted individual. I admire her and her family for taking that brave first step and coming forward to report Seidenglanz’s detestable behaviour, it is because of their courage he is now behind bars for a very long time." The case underscores the importance of reporting such offences promptly, as reported by Gi Grimsby News on 11 December 2025.
