Offence Summary

Rhianna Johnson was jailed for seven years after sexually abusing a pre-pubescent child at the encouragement of her boyfriend and sending him videos of herself masturbating in front of children, as part of multiple child sex offences.

Full Description

A woman from Catford has been sentenced to seven years in prison for committing child sex offences, including the sexual abuse of a pre-pubescent child, under the influence of her paedophile boyfriend. Rhianna Johnson, 24, and her partner Marcus Bogle, 34, from Hackney, appeared at Woolwich Crown Court where they each pleaded guilty to 14 sex offences. The case, reported exclusively by the Hackney Gazette, highlights the disturbing encouragement and exchange of indecent materials between the couple.

Prosecutor Chris Harper detailed how Johnson committed a sex act on the child at Bogle's request. The pair, who had been in a relationship for six months, exchanged numerous indecent images of children and images depicting extreme bestiality. Johnson also sent videos of herself masturbating in front of children to Bogle. Judge Philip Shorrock remarked that both defendants pose a danger to children, stating, 'I do not accept' their claims of lacking a sexual interest in children, as presented by the prosecutor who noted, 'Mr Bogle does not recognise that he has a sexual interest in children and similarly, Ms Johnson denies a sexual attraction to children. Your honour may find that surprising in the context of this offending.'

Defence for Johnson, Sonia Larbi-Aïssa, argued that Bogle 'used and incited' her client into the sexual behaviour that led to the abuse. In contrast, Michael Field, defending Bogle, countered, 'With the greatest of respect, I’m not sure Ms Johnson needed much encouragement.' The court heard that Johnson is currently eight months pregnant. Following their sentencing on Thursday, August 21, both will be placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for life and subjected to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further notice.

The Metropolitan Police investigated the case, leading to the arrests and subsequent guilty pleas. This incident underscores the severe risks posed by individuals involved in child sexual exploitation within personal relationships.
