Full Description

Barthimaus Ehiemere, a 25-year-old resident of Hackney in East London, was sentenced on 20 November 2025 at Snaresbrook Crown Court to 18 years' imprisonment, with an additional four years on licence, following his conviction on 47 counts of child sex offences. These offences encompassed sexual assault, rape, and sexual abuse perpetrated against seven victims aged between 12 and 16. The Metropolitan Police described Ehiemere as 'one of the most prolific and depraved sexual predators we have seen in years', highlighting the sustained and insidious nature of his online grooming activities.

The investigation into Ehiemere began in 2020 when police received reports of multiple instances of online grooming. In September of that year, officers from the Metropolitan Police raided his home in Hackney, seizing several electronic devices. Forensic analysis of these devices revealed that Ehiemere had utilised social media platforms such as Snapchat and Spotafriend to target and groom young boys. He employed manipulative tactics, including sending gifts and money to his victims in exchange for explicit images. Further, Ehiemere was found to have sold this illegal content to other offenders, often bragging about the material he had obtained.

During the sentencing hearing on 20 November 2025, prosecutor James Brown KC detailed the profound impact of Ehiemere's actions on his victims. One victim recounted experiencing nightmares stemming from the abuse and reflected, 'it took me a long time to realise I was a child, and it wasn’t my fault'. The court heard evidence of a pattern of exploitation that exploited the vulnerabilities of minors online. Detective Constable Lindsey Luscombe of the Metropolitan Police emphasised the severity of the case, stating that it underscored the dangers of online child sexual abuse.

Following the sentencing, Detective Chief Inspector Kirk Doyle appealed for any additional victims to come forward, believing that not all of Ehiemere's crimes had yet been reported. The Metropolitan Police investigation, credited to sources including Josh Mellor/LDRS/careappointments.com, demonstrated a comprehensive effort to dismantle Ehiemere's network of abuse. Ehiemere's actions not only violated the trust of his young victims but also contributed to a broader circulation of illegal material within offender communities.
