The offences, which spanned several years, involved a range of sexual abuse acts, culminating in a unanimous guilty verdict following a three-week trial at Oxford Crown Court.

The trial concluded on April 24, with sentencing handed down on July 7 at the same court. Bryce-Hagain, aged 54, was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including 11 counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual activity with a child, and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Additional convictions included three counts of rape, three counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, and three counts of causing a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity. He was also convicted of two counts of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent, two counts of inciting a child to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity, one count of attempted rape, and one count of causing a child to engage in penetrative sexual activity.

Detective Constable Nicola Fullerton, of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, commented on the case, stating: “I would like to thank the victims for the strength and courage they have shown throughout this long investigation. We would encourage sexual offence victims to come forward to police, no matter how long ago offences occurred. We will listen and do everything possible to bring offenders like Roderick Bryce-Hagain to justice." This investigation highlights the ongoing efforts by Thames Valley Police to address historical child sexual abuse cases.

The sentencing includes a five-year extended licence period, ensuring close monitoring post-release. The case underscores the severe impact of such offences on young victims and the judicial system's commitment to delivering justice in Oxfordshire and surrounding areas.
