Full Description

Norman Macksoni, 47, of Wood End Close in Sharnbrook, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday afternoon, charged with one count of rape in connection with sexual offences against Joanne Young, the ex-wife of co-defendant Philip Young. The alleged offence forms part of a broader case spanning 2010 to 2023.

Macksoni indicated that he would plead not guilty to the charge during the hearing. Prosecutor Keith Ballinger noted that all cases involving the defendants were 'inextricably linked.' Magistrate Martin Clarke released Macksoni on bail with conditions prohibiting contact with Ms Young and requiring him to inform police of any address changes.

The case was committed to Swindon Crown Court, with Macksoni's next appearance scheduled for 23 January 2026. Court artist Elizabeth Cook provided sketches of the proceedings, as reported by Bristol Live. Wiltshire Police are investigating the interconnected sexual offences.
