Offence Summary

Oliver George White was found guilty of raping a woman in Northampton and sentenced to over six years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual risk order by failing to notify police of a relationship.

Full Description

Oliver George White, a 34-year-old man from Coltman Drive in Loughborough, was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court on 16 October 2025 to six years and two months in prison after being found guilty of rape.

The conviction stemmed from an incident where White raped a woman in Northampton. Prior to the trial, which began in August 2025, White pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual risk order. This order had been issued by Northampton Magistrates’ Court on 6 March 2024. The breach occurred on 6 February 2025, when White failed to notify Northamptonshire Police of a new relationship, as required under the terms of the order, without any reasonable excuse.

During the trial, White denied three additional charges: a second count of rape and one count of attempted rape. The jury acquitted him on these charges, and he was discharged by the presiding judge in relation to them. The survivor demonstrated immense courage throughout the investigation and court proceedings, as highlighted by Detective Sergeant Elizabeth Jeeves of Northamptonshire Police's SOLAR Team.

Detective Sergeant Jeeves stated: “Oliver White showed a lack of empathy and remorse towards the survivor in this case, who showed immense courage throughout the trial. Without her bravery throughout our investigation and court case, White could still be on the streets, but instead he has rightly been jailed for the abhorrent crime he committed.”

In addition to the custodial sentence, White was made subject to an indefinite restraining order prohibiting him from contacting the victim. The case was prosecuted by Northamptonshire Police, with the trial held at Northampton Crown Court.
