Offence Summary

Jennifer Mallee, a sex offender, attacked two women in nightclub toilets.

Full Description

Jennifer Mallee, 29, from Bournemouth, was convicted as a sex offender for assaulting two women in the toilets of a nightclub. The attacks involved non-consensual sexual contact, leaving the victims traumatised.

The incidents took place during a night out in Bournemouth, where Mallee, under the influence, targeted the women separately in the club's facilities. Dorset Police were alerted immediately after the assaults, leading to Mallee's arrest later that evening. CCTV footage and witness statements corroborated the victims' accounts of the sudden and violent nature of the attacks.

During the trial at Bournemouth Crown Court, the prosecution argued that Mallee's actions constituted serious sexual offences under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. One victim stated in court, 'It was terrifying; I felt completely violated in what should have been a safe space.' Mallee denied the charges initially but was found guilty following compelling evidence.

  • Two separate assaults on adult women.
  • Involved physical restraint and unwanted sexual touching.
  • Mallee had a history of minor offences but none sexual prior to this.

On 10 June 2024, Mallee was sentenced to a term of imprisonment, with the judge emphasising the breach of trust in a public venue. This case serves as a reminder of the risks of sexual violence in nightlife settings. Source: Offenders.org.uk database, O-5877.
