Offence Summary

Kier Middleton-Seath was jailed for 28 months after breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order and downloading indecent images of children, following a prior conviction for possessing such material.

Full Description

Kier Middleton-Seath, a 28-year-old from Cooling Road, Strood, Kent, was sentenced to 28 months in prison at an unspecified court on January 20 for multiple breaches of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and related offences involving indecent images of children.

Middleton-Seath had been convicted in 2022 for possessing indecent images of children, resulting in his placement on the sex offenders register and the imposition of a SHPO. The order included strict conditions on his use of internet-enabled devices, access to children, and requirements to notify police of certain activities such as changing addresses or acquiring new phones.

  • In March 2025, detectives identified breaches including staying at an address where a child was present.
  • He purchased a phone without notifying police.
  • He set up a bank account without informing officers.
  • He downloaded indecent images of children.

On March 17, 2025, Middleton-Seath was arrested while driving in Anthonys Way, Strood. A search of his vehicle uncovered quantities of controlled drugs, including cocaine and cannabis. He was charged with three counts of failing to comply with sex offender register notifications, three counts of breaching his SHPO, two counts of making indecent images of children, and possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Middleton-Seath pleaded guilty to all charges. In addition to the custodial sentence, his SHPO was extended by 10 years. Kent Police emphasised the importance of compliance with such orders, stating, 'Breaches of SHPOs undermine the protections put in place for the public, particularly vulnerable children, and will be dealt with robustly.' The case highlights the ongoing monitoring of registered sex offenders to prevent further harm.
