Offence Summary

Abdulraziq Mohammed snatched a five-year-old girl off the street in Winson Green and sexually assaulted her in his HMO after drinking alcohol and smoking mamba.

Full Description

Abdulraziq Mohammed, a 38-year-old man from Winson Green, Birmingham, committed a shocking sexual assault on a five-year-old girl. After consuming alcohol and smoking mamba, Mohammed opportunistically grabbed the child from the street in a brief window when her mother lost sight of her. He took her into his House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) where he sexually assaulted her.

The assault was discovered when cries were heard coming from Mohammed's home. Neighbours spotted him and the girl through the window with their bottoms pulled down, prompting police intervention. Mohammed was arrested at the scene. The case was handled by West Midlands Police, with evidence including witness accounts from the mother and neighbours, as well as medical examinations confirming the assault.

In addition to the sexual offences, Mohammed admitted to unrelated assaults on a father and son in Lozells a few days earlier, involving assault and criminal damage. At Birmingham Crown Court in March 2026, he was found guilty of false imprisonment with intent to commit a sexual offence, sexual assault, and assault. The judge highlighted the predatory nature of the crime and its devastating effect on the young victim and her family. Mohammed was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment with an extended four-year licence.
