Offence Summary

Matthew Lisk contributed to a paedophile gang's abuse of babies and children through rape, grooming, and online streaming, receiving a four-year prison term.

Full Description

Matthew Lisk, 32 from East Sussex, was convicted alongside six others in a paedophile ring that carried out rapes and assaults on a baby, toddler, and young child between 2013 and 2014. The offenders, from various English locations, streamed their crimes live online, groomed families for access—including targeting pregnant women—and exchanged advice on drugging victims in chat rooms.

The case broke open following Adam Toms' tearful 999 call in September 2014, leading to an NCA investigation that exposed the group's use of children as commodities for abuse and material trading. Lisk participated in these acts of 'terrifying depravity', driving long distances to offend and engaging in the network's online facilitation.

Judge Julian Lambert at Bristol Crown Court sentenced Lisk to four years' imprisonment with a three-year extension on licence, stating the behaviour was 'beyond human instinct' and made people 'physically sick'. He was placed on the sex offenders register for life. Det Ch Insp Simon Crisp described the extremity as 'horrifying', though rare, while the NCA's work protected additional children and aided international efforts.
