Full Description

Jahrad Alderton-Ford, a 43-year-old resident of Cop Street, Ash, near Sandwich in Kent, has been jailed for seven years following his conviction for sexually assaulting two young girls. The offences occurred in 2022, and Alderton-Ford was arrested on the same day the incidents were reported to Kent Police.

Despite denying the charges, Alderton-Ford was found guilty by a jury during a trial at Canterbury Crown Court in October 2024. He faced two counts of sexual assault, and the court heard evidence detailing the abuse inflicted on his young victims. The sentencing took place at the same court on 7 February 2025, where Judge unidentified imposed the seven-year custodial sentence, along with an additional year on licence upon release. Furthermore, Alderton-Ford was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order indefinitely to mitigate the risk of reoffending.

Detective Constable Emma Garcia of Kent Police commented on the case, stating: “These were awful offences against young victims and I am pleased Alderton-Ford has been brought to justice for his actions. By refusing to admit what he had done, he forced his victims and their family to go through a trial and I am pleased the jury saw through his denials. I would like to praise the bravery of the victims in this case and I urge anyone who has been the victim of sexual offences to report it to police so we can ensure offenders are held responsible for their crimes.” The investigation was led by Kent Police, highlighting their commitment to pursuing justice in child sex offence cases.

The case underscores the severe consequences for perpetrators of sexual assaults on minors, with Alderton-Ford's conviction serving as a deterrent.
