Full Description

Cameron Ramsay McGregor, a 33-year-old man from Dundee, was convicted at the High Court in Dundee of a series of violent sexual offences and assaults against five women, committed between November 2008 and September 2022. The offences began when McGregor was just 16 years old and continued over more than a decade, demonstrating a pattern of terrorising and harming multiple victims in the cities of Dundee and Newport-on-Tay in Fife.

The first victim suffered repeated physical abuse from McGregor between November 2008 and November 2010 in Dundee. She was bitten, punched, kicked, pushed, and restrained, resulting in injuries on various occasions. McGregor denied all charges during the trial, but the jury found him guilty based on the evidence presented.

  • Between February and June 2012 in Newport-on-Tay, McGregor headbutted a second woman, seized her by the neck, pushed her, spat on her, and struck her against a wall, causing injury.
  • From August 2012 to May 2014, at multiple addresses in Dundee, he pushed and struck the head of a third woman on several occasions.
  • McGregor was convicted of raping a fourth woman on multiple occasions between January 2020 and April 2022 while she slept. He faced an additional rape charge against the same woman from July 2019 to April 2022.
  • A fifth woman was raped by McGregor on various occasions between July and September 2022, with the jury reaching a majority verdict on this count.

The trial, described by Judge Lord Ericht as 'difficult and unpleasant', took place at the High Court in Dundee. McGregor was cleared of several other charges, including a sexual assault against the fifth woman, for which the jury returned a not proven verdict. Court records revealed McGregor had prior convictions for assault, breach of the peace, and culpable and reckless conduct, all at summary level.

Following the guilty verdicts, defence solicitor advocate Kris Gilmartin reserved mitigation until a social work report could be prepared. Judge Lord Ericht remanded McGregor in custody ahead of sentencing scheduled for the following month. As a result of the convictions, McGregor is now subject to sex offender registration requirements. The case was reported by The Courier on 13 November 2025, highlighting the severity of the offences committed within Scotland's jurisdiction.
