A 45-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after being convicted of serious sexual offences against a child. Giedrius Arcisauscas, residing on Downing Close, appeared at Chester Crown Court for a four-day trial starting on 22 April 2025. On 25 April 2025, he was found guilty of sexual assault of a girl under 13, sexual assault of a girl under 13 by penetration, and three counts of making an indecent image or pseudo-image of a child.
The court heard that the assault took place on 27 February 2025 at Arcisauscas's home during a party attended by a mother and her daughter. At one point, Arcisauscas was upstairs in a bedroom with three children. When two of the children left the room, he was left alone with the victim, who was just four years old at the time. The mother heard her daughter's scream and rushed to the bedroom, where the child informed her of what had happened. Upon confronting Arcisauscas, the mother slapped him before leaving the address with her daughter.
The incident was promptly reported to Cheshire Constabulary, and Arcisauscas was arrested shortly thereafter. During the investigation, officers seized his mobile phone and discovered six indecent images of children on the device, leading to a second arrest related to the possession of these images. The case was prosecuted by Cheshire Constabulary, highlighting the force's commitment to protecting vulnerable children from sexual exploitation.
On 12 June 2025, Arcisauscas was remanded in custody and returned to Chester Crown Court for sentencing. He received a 13-year custodial sentence, plus one year on licence upon release. Additionally, the court imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and required him to sign the sex offenders register for life. These measures aim to prevent future offending and ensure public safety.
Detective Sergeant Paul Harrison of Cheshire Constabulary commented on the case, stating: 'Firstly I’d like to thank the family for their bravery in coming forward and their support of the investigation in order to prevent this man harming any more children. The family thought they were in a safe environment but Arcisauscas effected the ultimate betrayal by sexually assaulting their daughter. The devious nature of his offending and the impact on the family when they discovered this perverted act has left them angry and fearful of this happening again to their little girl. Their trust in people has sadly gone and it has been extremely difficult for them to navigate the aftermath of the assault. Now that he has been found guilty, I hope this will help them as they try to overcome their ordeal.' This case underscores the devastating effects of child sexual abuse and the importance of swift police action.
