Offence Summary

Amir Saadi was jailed for nine years after being found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of paying for the sexual services of a child, involving a 14-year-old girl he met in September 2020.

Full Description

A Bournemouth man, Amir Saadi, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for committing multiple sexual offences against a teenage girl. The 47-year-old was convicted on three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of paying for the sexual services of a child, following a trial that highlighted his exploitation of a vulnerable minor.

The offences began in September 2020 when Saadi first met the victim, who was just 14 years old at the time. Between September 2020 and May 2021, the girl visited Saadi's address in the Boscombe area on several occasions. During these encounters, Saadi paid the victim money in exchange for sexual activity, demonstrating a clear pattern of grooming and exploitation. The victim was also provided with a set of keys to a property on Christchurch Road, which was linked to Saadi's home address, further indicating the depth of his manipulation.

The crimes came to light in June 2021 when they were reported to the police. Upon his arrest, Saadi denied any knowledge of the girl during his interview, despite evidence of contact being discovered on his phone. This evidence proved instrumental in building the case against him. The investigation was led by the Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) of Dorset Police.

In addition to the nine-year custodial sentence, Saadi has been placed on the sex offenders register for life and issued with a sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future behaviour and protect the public. Detective Constable Andy Hale of CAIT commented on the case, stating: “Saadi took advantage of a teenage girl and showed no regard for her emotional or physical wellbeing.” He praised the victim's bravery throughout the investigation and trial, adding: “The young victim in this case has been exceptionally brave... I hope that this case will give victims the courage to speak out and seek help.”

This case, reported by Faye Tryhorn and published on 25th March 2024 via Greatest Hits Radio Dorset news, underscores Dorset Police's commitment to pursuing justice for child victims of sexual exploitation. The force emphasised that such actions can have lifelong impacts, and they will continue to hold offenders accountable.
