Full Description

Lee Tarry, a 65-year-old man from Richmond Hill in Leeds, has been imprisoned for 16 years following his conviction for a series of historic sex offences committed in Cheshire. The crimes, which spanned two decades from 1970 to 1990, involved three victims, two of whom were children at the time of the abuse.

Tarry appeared at Chester Crown Court for a 10-day trial in October 2025, where he was found guilty of 10 sexual offences. The offences were described as abhorrent by investigating officers, highlighting the severe impact on the victims. The court proceedings brought long-overdue justice to those affected, with the bravery of the victims playing a crucial role in the prosecution's success.

Detective Constable Laura Lee, the investigating officer from Cheshire Constabulary, commended the victims in a statement following the sentencing. She said: 'I’d like to thank the victims for their bravery in coming forward and supporting a prosecution. I hope seeing Tarry get justice for his abhorrent actions against them helps them in some way.' The case was handled by Cheshire Constabulary, underscoring the force's commitment to addressing historic sexual abuse.

The sentencing took place in early 2026, marking the culmination of a thorough investigation into these long-standing crimes. Tarry's conviction serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to hold perpetrators accountable, no matter how much time has passed since the offences occurred.
