Full Description

Ashraf Alsaadi, a 41-year-old Syrian national from Waterloo Street, Hull, was jailed for four years and two months at Hull Crown Court after being convicted of eight sexual assault charges against two girls under 18. Alsaadi, who 'letched' over females, denied the offences but a jury found him guilty following a trial ending on 4 July 2025. The court heard how his actions left one victim feeling scarred and scared, with Alsaadi displaying a complete lack of remorse and even lying about the assaults.

Prosecutors detailed how Alsaadi targeted the young victims, assaulting one over her clothes and committing seven further assaults against the other. The Hull Live article on September sentencings described the ordeal as deeply traumatic, with the victims' testimonies pivotal in securing the conviction. Alsaadi's behaviour was characterised as predatory, preying on vulnerable girls in the community.

In addition to his custodial sentence, Alsaadi must register as a sex offender indefinitely, with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and a 10-year restraining order imposed. Humberside Police, who investigated the case, highlighted the importance of reporting such offences to protect the public. The judge condemned Alsaadi's lack of accountability, stating it aggravated the severity of his crimes. This sentencing reflects ongoing efforts to combat sexual exploitation in the Humber region.
