Daniel Lander, a 27-year-old man from West Bromwich, committed a series of sexual offences against a woman between October 2024 and March 2025. The offences culminated in a violent attack at the Ty Mawr Caravan Park in Abergele, North Wales, where he inflicted grievous bodily harm on his victim.

On 29 March 2025, police were called to reports of a disturbance at the caravan park shortly after 8:30am. Officers arrived to find the woman inside a caravan with significant injuries, including a fractured eye socket, bruises to her back, ribs, and arms. Lander was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. During subsequent interviews, the woman disclosed that Lander had raped her on two occasions during the period from October 2024 to March 2025.

Lander, residing at Charlemont Avenue in West Bromwich, was charged with two counts of rape, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, assault, and criminal damage. He was found guilty following a trial and appeared for sentencing at Mold Crown Court on 8 December 2025.

The court sentenced Lander to 10 years in prison, with an additional two years on extended licence. Detective Constable Catherine Farrington from North Wales Police commented on the case, stating: "Today's sentencing reflects the severity of the horrific offences committed by Lander. This man inflicted brutal violence on a woman, leaving her physically injured and emotionally distressed." She further praised the victim, saying: "I want to commend the victim in this case. Her courage, and the detailed accounts of the abuse she has suffered, have been vital in securing this conviction. We hope this outcome provides some measure of reassurance as she continues her recovery."

The case was investigated by North Wales Police, highlighting the brutal nature of the attack and the victim's bravery in coming forward. Lander's actions caused lasting physical and emotional harm to the victim.
