Full Description

Charlie Holmes, a 31-year-old woman from Melrose Street, off Anlaby Road in west Hull, was sentenced at Hull Crown Court for committing serious sexual offences against a vulnerable teenage girl. Holmes, who admitted to three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of supplying cannabis to the child, took advantage of the girl's vulnerability in a predatory manner.

The court heard that Holmes repeatedly pestered the teenage victim, engaging in unwanted sexual contact including intimate touching and kissing her. This behaviour left the girl feeling 'really uncomfortable' and described the attention as 'quite disgusting'. In addition to the sexual assaults, Holmes provided the victim with joints of cannabis to smoke, further exploiting her position. The victim suffered 'massive' problems as a result, remaining 'constantly on edge' and deeply affected by the abuse.

During the sentencing in December 2025, the judge highlighted the obsessive nature of Holmes' actions and the profound impact on the young victim. Holmes was jailed for three years and received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order as well as an indefinite restraining order. She was also mandated to register as a sex offender indefinitely, ensuring ongoing monitoring to protect the public. The case was reported by Hull Live, drawing attention to the dangers of grooming and sexual exploitation within communities.
