Hassan Basharat, 32, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, was sentenced to 12 years in prison in February 2022 at Bradford Crown Court after conviction on three counts of rape. These acts were committed between 2008 and 2009 against a child victim groomed and abused by a gang in Keighley, involving the provision of alcohol to facilitate exploitation.

Basharat was one of six offenders jailed that month for a cumulative 66 years, following West Yorkshire Police's thorough inquiry based on the victim's later report. The abuses encompassed multiple rapes with degrading elements.
