Offence Summary

Jordan Little, a 22-year-old autistic man from Blackpool, was jailed for six months after admitting to four breaches of his sexual harm prevention order by using an Xbox to access the internet, including Facebook and Instagram, and deleting chat history.

Full Description

Jordan Little, a 22-year-old autistic man from Blackpool, appeared before Judge Michael Maher at Preston Crown Court, where he admitted four offences of breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO). The order, imposed until 2030, stemmed from his prior involvement in child sex offences, including a police caution in November 2022 for possessing an indecent image of a child and an arrest just 18 days later for downloading and distributing Category A photographs of children, which the judge described as the worst kind involving sexual cruelty to small children.

The breaches occurred when Little, residing in supported accommodation on Lunedale Avenue in Blackpool, used an Xbox—gifted to him as a Christmas present by his mother—to access the internet. Staff at the accommodation had set up the device but overlooked disabling its internet capability, a condition of his SHPO. Police discovered the Xbox was connected to the internet during a visit in March 2023, prompted by concerns raised by a probation officer about suspicious searches Little had made on YouTube. Examination of the device revealed active Facebook and Instagram accounts, both prohibited under the order, and evidence that Little had deleted his chat history, constituting a fourth breach.

Defence barrister Megan Tollitt argued that Little's autism and mental health issues meant he presented emotionally as a 15-year-old or younger, impairing his ability to make proper judgements. A psychiatrist had described him as 'a child in an adult’s body' with the emotional intellect of a 15-year-old at the time of his offences. Tollitt noted that carers managed much of his life and that a recent check of the Xbox by the accommodation manager had uncovered no concerns. However, Judge Maher highlighted Little's history of non-compliance, including previous breaches leading to two suspended prison sentences, accessing the dark web while on bail in April 2023, and deliberately locking his door and hiding the Xbox when police arrived, claiming it was overheating.

The judge activated the two suspended sentences but did not extend the term, imposing a total custodial sentence of six months. He told Little he needed a 'short sharp shock' to understand the importance of obeying court orders, adding that he would serve about eight or nine weeks in prison before release on licence, with the risk of recall for any further offences. The court was informed that despite his vulnerabilities, Little was capable with computers and the internet, as noted in a statement from a previous care assistant. This case was reported by the Lancashire Evening Post on 30 January 2026.
