Full Description

Adam Bench, a 47-year-old resident of Stanwell in Staines-upon-Thames, was sentenced to 18 years in prison at Reading Crown Court on 21 November 2025 for a series of child sex offences committed over a 15-year period. The offences involved the sexual abuse of multiple young victims, some as young as under 13 years old, in locations including Windsor and the West Drayton area of London.

Bench's criminal activities began approximately 15 years prior to his conviction, with investigations revealing a pattern of abuse that continued until 2024. Between 2010 and 2022, he targeted children in West Drayton, leading to his initial arrest by the Metropolitan Police on 17 December 2022. Further offences occurred between September and December 2024, when Bench sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions in Windsor, resulting in his subsequent arrest on 6 December 2024 and formal charges the following day.

Following an eight-day trial at Reading Crown Court, which concluded on 17 September 2025, Bench was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict on 20 counts. These included seven counts of sexual activity with a female child under the age of 16, six counts of sexual assault of a female child under 13, four counts of rape of a female over the age of 16, two counts of assault of a female child under 13 by penetration, and one count of inciting a female child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity. He was acquitted on one count of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.

  • The trial highlighted the prolonged nature of Bench's offending, demonstrating a sustained campaign of abuse against vulnerable children.
  • Joint investigations by Thames Valley Police's Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU) in Windsor and the Metropolitan Police's Child Protection Team ensured a comprehensive probe into the historical and recent crimes.

Detective Constable Danielle Baker, from TVP’s CAIU, commended the victims for their 'immense bravery' in coming forward. She stated: 'The impact that Adam Bench has had on the victims and their families is huge and no amount of punishment for Bench will ever be enough.' DC Baker further noted the sentence's severity, saying: 'The length of this sentence shows the severity of his actions, and he will have many years in custody to think about the damage that he has caused.' The investigation, despite its challenges, underscored the possibility of lengthy sentences for such offenders, encouraging other potential victims to report abuse.

The case was prosecuted under the jurisdiction of Thames Valley Police and the Metropolitan Police, with the sentencing reflecting the gravity of the child sex offences committed within the United Kingdom.
