Offence Summary

Tristan Phillip Clamp was jailed for four and a half years after committing a series of sex offences against women and girls over 11 years, including possessing indecent images of children, voyeurism, and operating equipment beneath clothing without consent.

Full Description

A Ringwood man, Tristan Phillip Clamp, has been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for a catalogue of serious sex offences spanning more than a decade. The 33-year-old, residing on Northfield Road, was convicted at Southampton Crown Court on 2 September 2024 for crimes committed between January 2010 and August 2021.

The offences included taking and possessing indecent photographs and pseudo-photographs of a child, voyeurism, operating equipment beneath the clothing of another without their consent, and possession of a paedophile manual. These acts targeted women and girls, causing severe psychological harm to the victims. The judge described Clamp as a 'deceitful and deviant offender', highlighting the paedophile manual as an 'abominable document' and the indecent images as 'horrendous images of abuse'.

During sentencing, the judge expressed doubts about the genuineness of Clamp's remorse, stating: 'I have great doubts as to whether your remorse is genuine and I agree with the victim, who states your deceit was ongoing for many years.' Responding to a letter Clamp submitted to the court, the judge added: 'In my judgement, your letter to the court smacks of self-pity and regret and is entirely self-serving.' The court praised the primary victim for her courage in reading her victim personal statement, noting she had 'suffered severe psychological harm' as a result of Clamp's actions.

In addition to the custodial sentence, Clamp must serve an extended licence period of seven and a half years. He is subject to restraining orders and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order. Forfeiture orders were issued for all his devices containing illegal material. PC Hannah Wood of Dorset Police commented: 'I am so pleased that the victims in this case have finally seen justice and seen Clamp put behind bars, where he belongs. I want to echo the judge in praising the victims for their bravery throughout this investigation and for their determination to see Clamp face the consequences for his sickening crimes.'

The case was investigated by Dorset Police, underscoring their commitment to tackling sexual offences. This conviction serves as a stark reminder of the long-term impact of such crimes and the justice system's resolve to hold perpetrators accountable.
