Full Description

Pawel Sagala, aged 43 from Dryden Street, Kettering, was sentenced at Northamptonshire Crown Court for a series of online sexual offences targeting a minor. Between 24 April 2025 and 11 May 2025, Sagala intentionally attempted to cause or incite a girl aged 14 to engage in sexual activity. His actions were driven by the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, as he intentionally attempted to communicate with the child to encourage her to make a sexual communication.

Further details revealed that Sagala sent a photograph of a person’s genitals to the girl, an act intended to cause her alarm, distress, or humiliation. These communications occurred online, highlighting the dangers of digital grooming and exploitation of children. The court heard evidence that Sagala's behaviour constituted a clear attempt to engage in child sexual offences, breaching trust and safety protocols for minors.

Sagala pleaded guilty to all charges. In passing sentence, the judge imposed 24 months in prison, suspended for 24 months, recognising the offender's admissions but emphasising the severity of the crimes. He was ordered to complete 26 days in an accredited programme, 10 rehabilitation activity days, and 150 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was imposed to restrict his future behaviour and protect potential victims. The case was reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph on 17 November 2025, based on sentencings at Northamptonshire Magistrates' and Crown Courts.

This sentencing underscores the judiciary's commitment to combating child sexual exploitation in the UK, with Northamptonshire Police playing a key role in the investigation. No direct quotes from the trial were available in the reporting, but the plea of guilty indicates Sagala's acceptance of the offences' gravity.
