Offence Summary

Aiden Bridges participated in the section 18 assault on a man in Huddersfield on 7 August 2024.

Full Description

Aiden Bridges, aged 27 from Orchard Street, Huddersfield, received a prison sentence for his part in a savage group attack in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The assault occurred on 7 August 2024, targeting a man in his 20s at a local address, where the victim sustained severe head injuries from the brutal beating involving weapons such as an iron.

Following the attack, the victim escaped through a window and alerted authorities, leading to an ambulance call-out. Police officers visited the hospital, spoke with the injured man, and identified the perpetrators, including Bridges, connecting the event to an earlier kidnap and torture case from July.

Bridges was arrested in the subsequent days. He admitted guilt for the section 18 assault. On 19 January 2026, Leeds Crown Court imposed a sentence of four years and eight months' custody on him. In the aftermath, DC Andy Buckingham of Kirklees CID expressed: 'We welcome the sentencing of these persons today for their roles in what were dreadful offences involving shocking levels of violence.' The victim endured significant physical and psychological harm.
