Offence Summary

Kelvin Fielding messaged about a fictional nine-year-old girl and was involved in making and distributing indecent images, resulting in a six-year-and-eight-month prison sentence.

Full Description

Kelvin Fielding, from Post Office Lane, Wantage, was jailed for six years and eight months at Oxford Crown Court in 2025 for child sexual exploitation offences. Police described his behaviour as 'shocking' after he messaged an account in November 2022 about a nine-year-old girl, which turned out to be a fictional profile operated by an undercover officer posing as the girl's step-father.

Fielding was convicted on one count of attempting to meet a child following grooming, one count of exposure, one count of assaulting a police officer, and charges related to making and distributing indecent images of children. The court highlighted the predatory nature of his online communications and possession of illegal material.

Thames Valley Police led the investigation, which exposed Fielding's dangerous intentions towards children. This case serves as a reminder of the effectiveness of undercover operations in preventing child sex offences.
