Offence Summary

Ihab Al-Eisawi, a 22-year-old Egyptian national from Fishponds, Bristol, was charged with rape and sexual assault in relation to the group-based sexual exploitation of teenage girls.

Full Description

Ihab Al-Eisawi was one of seven men who appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court charged in connection with group-based child sexual exploitation in Bristol. The Avon and Somerset Police investigation revealed offences against 11 girls aged 14 to 17 from 2022 to 2025, totalling more than 40 counts.

Ihab Al-Eisawi, a 22-year-old Egyptian national from Fishponds, Bristol—who corrected his age from 26 as stated by police to 22 in court—was charged with two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The probe began in November 2023 following concerns over a teenage girl's exploitation, leading to April 2024 arrests.

Al-Eisawi was re-arrested Tuesday and appeared Wednesday before District Judge Lynne Matthews, not entering a plea and being remanded in custody for 17 December at Bristol Crown Court. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Herbert affirmed: “Working with our partners, we’ve ensured the most appropriate safeguarding measures and support has been made available to each victim.”

From the CPS Organised Child Sexual Abuse Unit, James Bolton-Smith noted the charges' origin in the Bristol investigation, warning against prejudicial online activity. Police initiatives with local sectors promote reporting of exploitation indicators.
