Offence Summary

Ali Razza Hussain Kazmi raped and committed other sexual offences against Girl B within the Rochdale grooming gang's abuse of two teenage girls from 2002 to 2006.

Full Description

Ali Razza Hussain Kazmi, 36, from Brotherod Hall Road, Rochdale, was convicted as part of a five-man grooming gang that targeted and sexually exploited two schoolgirls, Girl A and Girl B, aged 13 and 14, over the period from 2002 to 2006. The case emerged in 2015 following Girl A's disclosure during a parenting course of being abused daily from age 12, involving substances, multiple perpetrators, and blackmail via recorded videos.

Minshull Street Crown Court details showed Kazmi's specific offences against Girl B, including rape and two additional sexual acts, within the broader pattern of the gang picking up victims outside school and assaulting them after intoxicating them with alcohol, cannabis, and ecstasy in locations across Rochdale, such as cars, parks, and flats. The judge, Tina Landale, characterised the men's actions as 'highly predatory' and the abuse as 'appalling'.

Kazmi received an eight-year custodial sentence for his crimes. The investigation was handled by Greater Manchester Police, focusing on historical child sexual exploitation.
