Offence Summary

Persistent sex offender Paul Luck breached his sexual harm prevention order by failing to disclose a female staying at his home without informing her of his past.

Full Description

Paul Luck, a 62-year-old persistent sex offender from Easington Road, Stockton, was jailed for 12 months at Teesside Crown Court for breaching the terms of his indefinite sexual harm prevention order (SHPO). The court heard how police visited his home after being alerted to a female living there, whom Luck had failed to notify as required, and who was unaware of his perverted past. Luck was legally obligated to alert police about any relationships with females and barred from allowing women to stay unless informed of his history.

Prosecutor Nicci Horton noted Luck's six convictions for sexual offences. Michele Turner, mitigating, stated the woman was never alone with Luck as she stayed with her partner, and he was recalled on licence. Recorder Richard Wright KC emphasised Luck's history of sexual offences over years, sentencing him for two charges of breaching the SHPO following his arrest on March 28.

The case was detailed in The Northern Echo, drawing from Teesside Crown Court records, highlighting Luck's repeated non-compliance as a convicted sex offender.
