Full Description

Alex Fullard, a 31-year-old man, has been sentenced to 21 years behind bars for committing multiple child sex offences against three young victims. The case, investigated by Humberside Police's Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) team, came to light following reports from victims who endured years of abuse.

Fullard first came to the attention of authorities in 2021 when two women reported that he had raped and sexually assaulted them when they were children, with the abuse continuing into their adulthood. Although the initial reporters withdrew due to the traumatic nature of the investigation, they were supported by specialist agencies and informed they could come forward again. In December 2023, a third victim disclosed similar sexual abuse by Fullard, leading to his swift arrest at his home address. He was charged with four sexual offences and remanded in custody.

During his interview, Fullard made incriminating admissions, prompting detectives to reopen the investigation and contact the two earlier reporters. Further enquiries revealed additional evidence, resulting in 15 charges against him. These included five counts of rape of a child under 13, three counts of rape, three counts of attempted rape of a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by touching, one count of sexual assault of a child under 13, and one count of causing and inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity. Fullard initially denied the new allegations, leading to a trial date set for July 2025. However, on the first day of the trial at Hull Crown Court, faced with overwhelming evidence, he pleaded guilty to all offences.

Sentencing occurred on 20 October 2025 at Hull Crown Court. In addition to the 21-year custodial sentence, Fullard will serve an extended eight years on licence, be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, and be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Detective Constable Jack Somers, who led the investigation, commended the victims' courage, stating: 'This has been an extremely extensive, and intrusive investigation, and I admire the courageousness of the three victims and their families for taking that first step in coming forward to report the horrific crimes they were forced to live through at such a young age.' He further described Fullard's actions as 'outright sickening', emphasising the betrayal of trust involved in abusing innocent children.

The offences spanned several years, beginning when the victims were under 13, highlighting the long-term impact of such crimes. Humberside Police's thorough investigation ensured that Fullard was held accountable, providing some measure of justice for the victims.
