Andrew Hallam, a 45-year-old man from Nottinghamshire, engaged in a series of depraved sexual offences targeting underage girls and women between 2019 and 2025. His crimes, which spanned Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire, involved voyeurism through hidden cameras and direct sexual assaults, all documented on his mobile phone for personal gratification.
Hallam's voyeuristic activities began with the installation of concealed cameras in bathrooms, changing rooms, and other private locations. He deliberately positioned these devices to capture footage of women and girls in vulnerable, intimate situations, such as undressing in toilet cubicles or during stays at addresses he knew they would visit. One notable incident involved Hallam travelling to Derbyshire to plant a camera at a property where a teenage girl was staying. The recordings included clips of unknown children and his victims, amassing a collection that police later described as a gross invasion of privacy.
- Hallam secretly filmed multiple underage girls and a woman during sexual assaults in Nottingham between 2023 and 2024.
- Victims were unaware of the abuse at the time, with footage discovered later on his device.
- Police seized his phone in January 2025, uncovering nearly 300 indecent images of children alongside the assault videos and voyeuristic clips.
Beyond voyeurism, Hallam's offending escalated to physical sexual assaults on four female victims, some confirmed to be underage. These assaults occurred without the victims' knowledge or consent, and Hallam ensured they were filmed as they happened. The depravity came to light when one victim discovered the recordings and reported Hallam to the authorities. Nottinghamshire Police investigated, charging him with 20 offences, including multiple counts of sexual assault, voyeurism, sexual activity with a girl under 15, indecent exposure, and making and taking indecent photographs of children.
Facing overwhelming evidence, Hallam pleaded guilty to all charges on 28 April 2025 at Nottingham Crown Court. On 10 October 2025, he was sentenced to nine years and one month in prison, followed by an extended licence period of four years and 11 months. Additionally, he was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposing restrictions on his behaviour, and a restraining order barring contact with his victims.
Detective Constable Lucy Clarke of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the case: 'Hallam committed a series of shameful acts that any right-minded person would've found revolting. Seemingly for his own sexual gratification, he filmed himself as he sexually abused four female victims, some of whom he knew to be underage. If that wasn't bad enough, he also set up hidden cameras within bathrooms, changing rooms and other locations, as part of a campaign of voyeurism over several years. This was a gross breach of trust and invasion of privacy from a man with a dangerous infatuation for underage girls.' The officer highlighted the immeasurable pain caused to the victims and praised their cooperation in securing justice, noting Hallam's demonstrated danger to women and girls.
