Offence Summary

Sean Eaves secretly recorded intimate photos and videos of two women and a child without their consent, and possessed indecent images of a child. He was jailed for two years after pleading guilty to multiple sexual offences.

Full Description

Sean Eaves, a 41-year-old man from Finedon in Northamptonshire, was sentenced to two years in prison for a series of voyeuristic crimes involving the secret recording of intimate material.

The offences first came to light in September 2023 when Eaves sent a screenshot of an intimate video of himself with one of the victims to her via Instagram messenger. This prompted an investigation, leading to his arrest in 2024. Officers searched his mobile phone and discovered the incriminating video, along with evidence linking it to the Instagram account. The device also contained intimate photos of another woman, captured without her knowledge.

Released on bail, Eaves soon became the subject of further scrutiny following an anonymous tip-off that he possessed another mobile phone with indecent images of children. In January 2024, police conducted a search at a home in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, where they uncovered a memory card holding 18 indecent videos of a child, secretly recorded by Eaves. A second phone, found in his car, contained an additional eight indecent videos and 72 indecent photos of a child.

On 6 March 2026, at Peterborough Magistrates' Court acting as a crown court, Eaves, residing at Hawthorne Road, Finedon, pleaded guilty to three counts of voyeurism, one count of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress, and one count of taking an indecent image of a child. In addition to the two-year custodial sentence, he received a seven-year restraining order protecting all victims, a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and was required to register as a sex offender at a police station monthly for 10 years.

Detective Constable Amberlie Ford, who led the investigation for Cambridgeshire Police, commented: “Eaves shamefully took photos of these women and the child without their knowledge, which violated their dignity and privacy, so I welcome the sentence passed down by the courts. I would also like to pay tribute to the victims, whose strength in coming forward and supporting us with a prosecution has led to this result.” The case was reported by the Northampton Chronicle and Echo on 11 March 2026, highlighting the severe breach of trust and privacy involved.
