Full Description

Bineet Bhanji, aged 31 from Radford Boulevard in Radford, Nottinghamshire, was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court for a series of serious sexual offences against children. He pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a boy, meeting a boy following grooming, and engaging in sexual communication with a child. Additionally, Bhanji admitted to making indecent photographs of children and two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

The offences came to light through an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police, who uncovered evidence of Bhanji's grooming activities and production of indecent images. Court documents revealed that Bhanji had used online platforms to communicate sexually with a child and subsequently met the boy for sexual activity. His prior sexual harm prevention order, imposed for previous offences, was flagrantly disregarded, highlighting a pattern of predatory behaviour.

During the sentencing hearing, the judge emphasised the gravity of the crimes, stating that Bhanji's actions demonstrated a clear risk to children. He was handed an extended custodial sentence of 12 years and three months, comprising seven-and-a-half years in custody followed by four years and nine months on licence. Bhanji was also subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order to restrict his access to potential victims upon release. Nottinghamshire Police released a statement underscoring their commitment to protecting children from such predators, with the case reported in the Mansfield Chad on 13th November 2025.
