Full Description

Matteo Manfredi, 30, residing at a hostel in Chelmsford, Essex, was sentenced to two years in prison on August 30, 2017, at Chelmsford Crown Court for three breaches of a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO). Previously convicted in October 2016 for downloading 665 indecent images of children, Manfredi was found attempting to access pre-teen pornography websites.

Essex Police monitored Manfredi post his initial conviction, leading to his rearrest after evidence of further attempts to obtain child abuse material. The breaches involved intentional searches for exploitative content, violating restrictions designed to prevent reoffending.

The court's decision reinforced the importance of SHPOs in managing convicted sex offenders. Judge noted Manfredi's persistent risk to children, ensuring his incarceration to protect the public.
